How does a quality manager spell relief? Efficient QMS™ Evaluating and Improving Processes The overall Advanced Product Quality Planning process will be evaluated during annual internal audits and formal third-party assessments of quality systems. At the end of a major program launch the Company will hold "lessons learned" sessions with Customers and Advanced Product Quality Planning teams. Any ideas for improvement will then be shared at the Company's Best Processes Day, technology roundtable sessions, corporate quality councils and various methods of sharing with team members, including the program management database. To monitor and maintain process integrity, facilities will develop process control plans, standard operating procedures (SOP's), work instructions, inspection instructions and packaging/shipping instructions. Control plans will indicate those characteristics that contribute to product form, fit and function and will be derived from FMEA's. Where appropriate, engineering will identify potential Key Control Characteristics or Significant Characteristics for products. Measurement system reliability will be ensured through traceability to recognized international standards and through the performance of measurement system variation studies (GR&R's). SPC or other approved control methods will be used in facilities to monitor quality characteristics. Operators and technicians will be empowered to correct out of control conditions or to shut-down an operation if necessary. In addition, the production planning system will be available in all production locations to address scheduling and inventory management.
